Arsenal's Sesko alternatives revealed: Three world-class strikers eyed by Arteta
Mikel Arteta's side enjoyed a brilliant season in the Premier League, but there is still room to improve this summer.
It is no secret that the Gunners are on the hunt for another forward to bolster Arteta's options.
That hunt has seen the club target Benjamin Sesko. The RB Leipzig forward has been superb towards the end of the campaign in the Bundesliga and seemed like an ideal candidate for Arsenal.

However, ultimately, Sesko has opted to stay at RB Leipzig and extended his current deal with the German side rather than deciding to go to pastures new.
This has left Arsenal seeking out potential alternatives in the market. According to GiveMeSport, there are three in particular who the club will now look to target.

Arsenal target offensive trio
One of those is Viktor Gyokeres, who has been in fantastic form for Sporting CP scoring 43 goals last season. Indeed, he was previously Arsenal's summer priority before Arteta decided that matching the Portuguese side's asking price was poor value.
The other is Joshua Zirkzee, who made 19 goal contributions in 37 matches last season while leading Bologna to the Champions League.
Lastly, the report also claims that Arsenal could look at Brighton's Evan Ferguson as another potential alternative to Sesko. Ferguson is highly rated and while he had a difficult second half of the season, he has shown a lot of promise since he broke into the first team at Brighton.
Ferguson being on a long-term contract is probably the most difficult transfer of the trio to pull off.
Sporting will demand a huge fee for Gyokeres, but the Portuguese club has shown in the past its willingness to part ways with its key players.
Meanwhile, Bologna are unlikely to stand in the way of Zirkzee if a big club like Arsenal come knocking on their door.
One thing is for certain, there are options in the market for Arsenal and it would not be a surprise to see Arteta's side pursue any of the above candidates.
