Manchester United will come back with an improved bid after agreeing a £150,000 a week deal in principle with Jarrad Branthwaite, FootballTransfers can reveal.
The club had an initial bid for the Everton player knocked back - though there is some variation via sources after how much was actually offered - but there is an anticipation that a new offer will be forthcoming.
Futhermore, we understand that the news of the bid that emerged last night from several publications was information fed by those close to Everton.

FootballTransfers has reported this year that Man Utd have been engaged in talks with Everton over the finalities of the deal, while we stated but that a lot of the saga will be played out in public, with each club attempting to save money.
Despite his emotional attachment to Everton, we are told that Branthwaite does want a move to Old Trafford, having agreed to a contract at Old Trafford that would see his wages more than quadruple.
Man Utd and Everton talks continue over Jarrad Branthwaite
Talks over clauses will continue and further bids will be made for the 21-year-old, while there is confidence a move will be concluded before July.
Ineos have made Branthwaite their top target to bolster their backline and it’s thought that a deal will be concluded by June 30, the final day of the financial year for the Premier League, with clubs having to submit their accounts.
As previously reported, Everton are willing to listen to offers for Branthwaite at around £50-£60 million but want to insert certain clauses to make the overall package closer to £65m and above.
