EXCLUSIVE: PSG did not push for new Man Utd signing Yoro after injury concerns

Paris Saint-Germain decided not to push for the signature of Leny Yoro owing to concerns over injuries relating to his development, FootballTransfers has been told.

Manchester United are facing an anxious wait on Yoro and there are fears the defender could be out for a significant period.

One source has told FootballTransfers that the 18-year-old has suffered a fracture in his fifth metatarsal and could be sidelined for weeks.

Yoro was spotted using crutches and wearing a protective boot at the team's training camp at UCLA, following the injury he sustained during the first half of their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in Los Angeles on Saturday.

And club sources at PSG have informed us that they decided to back away from the deal as they had some physical concerns over the player, in regards to potential injuries.

Yoro was forced off after just 34 minutes in the game against the Gunners and is now on crutches.

Manager Erik ten Hag mentioned that the club would assess the extent of injuries to Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund have sustained.

When asked, Man Utd told FootballTransfers that they are still assessing Yoro’s injury so no timeframe for a return was provided.

Both players missed Tuesday's training session ahead of Man Utd's upcoming friendly against Real Betis in San Diego on Wednesday.

Yoro joined from Lille in a deal worth up to €62 million, with the club beating interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Los Blancos were unwilling to break the bank following the signing of Kylian Mbappe to their squad, but he was greatly admired by the club.

The youngster made his debut in a friendly against Rangers ten days ago, where he received plaudits for his display.
