Barcelona have made a ridiculous transfer offer for Euro 2024 top scorer Dani Olmo.

The Catalan club are in a well-documented financial predicament so they are unable to pay for transfers up front.

Their most recent offer to RB Leipzig for Olmo was simply ridiculous, involving instalments and unlikely add-ons.

Diario Sport is reporting that Barca bid €40 million - to be paid in four annual instalments from 2025.

They also offered €10m for winning La Liga twice by 2029 and another €10m for winning the Champions League twice by 2029.

In any situation, this would be a strange deal, but for a player of Olmo's calibre, it was never going to work.

It comes as no surprise to see that Leipzig laughed off Barcelona's nonsensical approach for one of their top players.

Barcelona's Olmo competition

Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Dani Olmo, though they are unlikely to have the funds that Leipzig are looking for.

The Red Devils have already signed Leny Yoro for nearly £60m and seem to be prioritising other defenders, like Everton's Jarrod Branthwaite, at the moment.

Barca's biggest competition for Olmo's signature could come from Bayern Munich.

It looks like Vincent Kompany's side will miss out on Rennes playmaker Desire Doue to PSG, opening the door for them to turn their attention to Olmo.

The Spaniard could be particularly keen on a move to the Allianz Arena as he would not have to relocate to another country.
