The BARGAIN transfer Chelsea will regret missing out on
Chelsea will regret missing out on Serhou Guirassy, who has joined Borussia Dortmund in a surprisingly cheap deal.
Guirassy scored 30 goals in all competitions for Stuttgart in the 2023/24 season.
Yet, he was available for just £15 million this summer due to a release clause in his contract.

Despite the clause, there was not much interest in signing him outside of Dortmund.
This came as a real surprise as there will not be many better value signings in this window.
Of course, Guirassy's superb form may not continue, but he only needs to be a useful squad player to justify that price tag.
Chelsea are among the clubs that should have approached the 28-year-old's representatives.

The Blues already have Nicolas Jackson, who had an underrated debut season at Stamford Bridge.
His finishing was questionable on several occasions but he still managed to score 14 goals in the Premier League.
Heading into the new campaign, it would be silly to give up on the 23-year-old.

Instead, the wise thing for the West London club to do would be to sign a forward who can rotate with him. Guirassy would have been an ideal candidate for that.
Plus, £15m is a drop in the ocean compared to some of Chelsea's recent signings.
There were reports that the Guinea international wanted to stay in Germany but surely the Blues could have convinced him of their project. An enormous pay rise would have helped, too.
