Man Utd target Ugarte 'pushing like crazy' - Romano
Manchester United target Manuel Ugarte is more than hopeful for a move to Old Trafford, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old is on the Premier League giant's radar, with the recruitment team making him their number one target, as FootballTransfers revealed last week.
The club currently have Casemiro as their go-to No.6 - but the veteran is on £350,000 per week and questions have been asked about his form and whether Man Utd need to bring fresh blood in.
PSG have been adamant that they will demand a €60 million fee for Ugarte, who is valued at €41m by FootballTransfers' Estimated Transfer Value (ETVC) model.
This is currently out of Man Utd's price-range but a deal closer to deadline day at the end of the month can not be ruled out.
Manuel Ugarte pushes for Man Utd
Now transfer expert Romano has provided an update on the links and where Ugarte's priorities lie. The Italian spoke on Playback, claiming that the player is "pushing like crazy" to join the Old Trafford club.
He said: "We have to mention Ugarte. Man Utd and Paris Saint-Germain have been in touch almost the whole summer to discuss this Manuel Ugarte story.
"The real change of the last two or three days is that Manuel Ugarte has started pushing like crazy to go to Manchester United. What I'm hearing is that Ugarte is really tired of the situation."
"It's almost two months of waiting for Manchester United. Tired not with Man United, but tired with PSG, he wants to go. He wants to have this solution. He wants the club to find a way and he wants to go to Manchester United. Now it's obviously up to the clubs to find a way."
