Newcastle players 'frustrated' at Howe omission
Kieran Trippier is considering a new chapter in his career potentially away from Newcastle, according to reports - and he's not the only player unsettled.
The Daily Mail states that after he lost the team captaincy, he has become unsettled. Eddie Howe has made it clear that Trippier remains an essential part of his squad but now he wants out.
The piece revealed that last week Howe informed the England defender that he wouldn't be starting in the season opener against Southampton and that Bruno Guimaraes would take over as the permanent on-field captain.

Trippier was disappointed by the timing of this decision and now is looking to leave the club.
It's thought that Trippier continues to have a strong relationship with Howe and supports Guimaraes' appointment as captain, but is now looking to make an exit to greener pastures.
Trippier was left on the bench during Newcastle's 1-0 victory over Southampton and opted to play 45 minutes in a recent Under-21 match against Sunderland.
With two years remaining on his contract at St James’ Park, Trippier is open to a move before the summer transfer window closes, should the right opportunity arise. Although Everton are interested, it's thought that the Merseyside club may not be a preferred destination for him.

Trippier has been a key figure at Newcastle since his £12 million move from Atletico Madrid in January 2022, and his influence both on and off the pitch has been significant. Earlier this year, he turned down a potential move to Bayern Munich.
And Trippier is not the only Newcastle player unsettled. Harvey Barnes was reportedly frustrated that he wasn't involved in the starting eleven against Southampton, which turned out to be a 1-0 win for the Magpies.
The winger had expected to start the game given his form and fitness but didn't make the grade.
