Gabriel Jesus has been tipped to quit Arsenal unless he starts playing regularly once again.

Jesus joined Arsenal from Man City for over €50 million in the summer of 2022 and enjoyed an excellent start to his Gunners career.

However, over time a combination of a lack of goals and fitness issues have seen Jesus fall down the pecking order.

So much so that manager Mikel Arteta now prefers playing a natural midfielder in Kai Havertz as a false nine rather than starting Jesus.

Additionally, Arsenal tried to sign another natural nine this summer.

Arsenal had been in negotiations for several weeks with Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko, and believed that a deal was all but done - with only some formalities to complete before the 21-year-old would agree on personal terms.

In the end Sesko signed a new contract with Leipzig but the Gunners remain interested ahead of the summer of 2025 and could return for the striker.

Former Premier League striker Dean Saunders believes that it is only a matter of time before Jesus asks to leave Arsenal.

What did Saunders say?

“I keep thinking to myself, how long is Jesus going to put up with not playing?,” Saunders said on TalkSport.

“I think he is a really good footballer. He obviously doesn’t score enough goals, otherwise Arsenal wouldn’t be looking for a striker, but how long is he going to sit on the bench at Arsenal without saying, listen, enough is enough?

“How many games is he going to give it?”

The 27-year-old Jesus has scored just 19 goals in 70 appearances for Arsenal.

Last season was something of a disappointment as he scored just four Premier League goals and eight in all competitions.

He is yet to get off the mark in 2024-25.
