Premier League giants make SHOCK January move for Man Utd flop

Newcastle United are planning a shock move for Man Utd flop Antony in January.

According to CaughtOffside, Newcastle plan to sign a winger during the January transfer market.

Their primary target is Nottingham Forest’s Antony Elanga, who they will again move for in the winter.

But if they are unsuccessful in bringing in the ex-Man Utd winger, they will turn to a current Red Devil in Antony.

CaightOffside reports that United will accept offers above €47 million for the Brazilian.

Man Utd are desperate to offload the €100m man having failed to do so this summer.

There were reports that Besiktas were set to make a move for the winger but those came to nothing.

Antony has endured a horrific couple of seasons at Manchester United since joining from Ajax, and has become something of a figure of fun among fans and the media.

Antony at Man Utd

Antony joined from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for €100m and big things were expected of Ten Hag’s former pupil.

However, Antony has been an unmitigated disaster at Old Trafford. He bagged just four Premier League goals in his inaugural season and looked well short of the physical, mental and even technical levels required to play for such a big team.

Last season, Antony was even worse with just one Premier League goal and one assist.

Despite this, Ten Hag often persisted with Antony in the starting XI but things have gone from bad to worse for the Brazilian.

Antony has not started a game this season, playing just one minute of football.
