Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has spoken about his secret weapon to beat Liverpool later today.

In what will be a crucial clash in the Premier League title race, the Gunners welcome the Merseyside club to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal sit fourth in the table with 17 points while the Reds are ahead in second position with 21 points. The London club missed out on the league title last season to Manchester City and are hoping to finally it, though Liverpool have emerged as title contenders themselves.

Ahead of the match, when asked, Arteta drilled home the point that his young players would be able to play without fear during the contest, highlighting Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly: “Yes, for sure. That’s certainly something that they don’t feel much, especially those two [Nwaneri & Lewis-Skelly] & that’s something really positive.”

“It brings the crowd together as well. It creates energy in the team, does something really good. It’s about thriving in the best moment, with the right players around you, which is something really important as well.”

Slot says away form is vital

But contrast, Liverpool head coach Slot has said it is essential the side improve their away results against the top six to stand a chance of landing a title.

The Dutchman, who has presided over a Liverpool-record 11 wins from the opening 12 games of a season, said: “It was seven points between Arsenal and Liverpool last season. The home game was 1-1, the away game Arsenal won.

"So if we could change the away result, which we can’t, to a win for Liverpool that would have been a one-point difference between the two teams. That’s why if you play your competitor those games are vital, like the others but maybe these ones a bit more.”
