Noni Madueke's future at Chelsea is looking tentative. The winger came into criticism for his attitude against Arsenal in the club's 1-1 draw on Sunday.

The winger was brought off by Enzo Maresa in the 67th minute at Stamford Bridge. During the contest, the player headed straight down the tunnel rather than speaking to the bench, showing signs of frustration. The move did not please a majority of the Chelsea supporters, either, who voiced their anger on social media.

After the game, the Blues boss was asked about Madueke storming off. But he stressed that there is no bad blood between the pair. “When you change a player, they are never happy,” the head coach said in his post-match press conference.

“Probably the only way to be happy is like the Wolves game when he scored a hat-trick and we changed him, so he was happy.

“It’s not only about Noni, it’s about all the players. It’s a good thing because they want to be there until the end. But in that moment we saw it in a different way. We thought Pedro, against [Jurrien] Timber, could be a bit more aggressive, and with Misha [Mykhailo Mudryk] also. It was a tactical decision, no more than that.”

Madueke enjoyed a great start to the season, notably a hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he only has one goal contribution in his last 11 appearances for the club.

He has been a regular starter in the first XI for Maresca this term, but now it could be that the likes of Mudryk, Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix take up his spot.

Which clubs should sign Noni Madueke?

We have used the recruitment tool in SciSports and come up with some of the clubs most suited to Madueke should he leave Chelsea next year.

We have run the criteria based on an 'ambitious' selection, given that it's unlikely the England attacker would move to a club that plays outside of Europe. The results are interesting.

Serie A club Inter are the first choice for Madueke, per the recruitment tool. The club play a 3-5-2 formation so it would be that the Chelsea man plays as the right-sided forward when Marcus Thuram is unavailable. Another choice would be to take over from Denzel Dumfries as the wing-back, with the Dutchman enduring a torrid season so far.

Aston Villa is the second choice. The club currently have Leon Bailey as their first-choice player in that position, but the Jamacia international is yet to score this season for the Midlands club. Furthermore, remaining in the Premier League would help Madueke's chances of being selected by Thomas Tuchel for England next year.

Others include his current club, Chelsea, Real Madrid, West Ham, Liverpool and Newcastle. The latter two are certainly interesting cases. The Reds have Mohamed Salah as their main man in that position, but he is out of contract in the summer.

Newcastle are in desperate need of a right-winger and will be looking to sign one in the January transfer window. For them and Eddie Howe, Madueke ticks a lot of boxes.
