Neymar receives DEVASTATING injury news

Neymar may have played his last match for Santos after suffering another devastating injury setback.
The Brazil international has been prone to physical issues since leaving Barcelona to sign for PSG for a record €222 million in the summer of 2017, but the latter part of his career has been particularly dogged by problems.
Neymar, 33, only returned to action following more than a year out in late 2024, but such have been his issues, he was released by Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal to return to Santos.
What promised to be a glorious homecoming for the attacker is now poised to end in frustration. Having signed a six-month deal with the Brazilian Serie A club in January, he had been making his way back to action after missing more than a month because of a hamstring injury.

What is Neymar’s injury and how long will he be out for?
Neymar has suffered another issue that could see him sidelined until the end of his Santos deal.
The club confirmed: “After recovering from a muscle injury and continuing to train to gain muscle mass, Neymar Jr. returned to matches and, during the first half of Santos FC's victory against Atletico MG, he felt renewed discomfort in his left thigh.
“He underwent imaging tests and a new injury was confirmed.”
Crucially, Santos refused to put a timeframe on Neymar’s recovery, which is generally not a good sign for a player.
It says: “He will be reassessed periodically for monitoring. We knew that these incidents could occur due to downtime.
“It was decided, in collaboration with the coaching staff and the athlete himself, that this recovery work will continue and, if necessary, new approaches will be adopted to achieve the ideal conditions for his return to the park.”
With Santos’ campaign to take an extended break in the summer, with the exception of one fixture against Fortaleza on 13 June, there is a very real danger that Neymar will not play for the club again.
What next for Neymar?
This represents another big blow for Neymar, who wants to regain a place at a major European side but was told by Fabrizio Romano earlier this week that Barcelona are not interested in him.
"It was more on Neymar's side, and it remains on Neymar's side. He would love to play for Barcelona again, so Neymar, if Barcelona called, would be ready to go tomorrow morning. Obviously, he's happy at Santos," Romano said.
"But it's also important to say that at Barcelona, they are looking at different plans, different strategies. Let's see how Neymar will arrive for the summer transfer window, maybe in good condition and so maybe for Barca, he could be an opportunity but at the moment, I'm not aware of concrete contacts for Neymar."
