Hansi Flick: Bayern Munich will be making no January transfers
Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick has confirmed that the Bavarian club have no intentions of signing any new players in the January transfer window.
Bundesliga sides very rarely use the mid-season break to bring in expensive new deals, with Bayern only bringing in Alvaro Odriozola on loan in the previous January window.
Bayern spent over £55 million adding no less than seven senior players to their first-team squad in the summer, including big-name signings like Leor Sane, Marc Roca, Bouna Sarr and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
And as such, Flick seems content with the squad he currently has and would much rather ensure those existing players improve their performances rather than making new signings.

”I don’t want any new players,” Flick told the German media at a press conference on Thursday.
“We will be with this squad until the end of the season. We have a lot of quality. We have room for improvement, every player knows that, and we need to work on that.”
Despite Flick’s new comments, Bayern have been heavily linked with a move for Reading left-back Omar Richards.
The 22-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, which could offer the German giants the opportunity to agree a deal for the summer off-season. However it now seems unlikely that they would try and push through a deal this month.
In terms of players leaving the Munich club this month, Flick was a little more coy on the topic.
Bayern midfielder Javi Martinez is expected to leave the club in the summer when his contract runs out, but some reports have suggested that the Spaniard could push through an early exit this month in the hope of finding regular game time elsewhere.
Similarly, young striker Joshua Zirkzee was reportedly Eintracht Frankfurt’s main January transfer target as the Bundesliga side looked to bolster their own attacking options.
However, for now, Flick remains convinced that both players will be staying put in Bavaria for the time being.
”There’s nothing that I know of,” said Flick “I did not hear anything from Martínez or Zirkzee. I expect them to be in the squad for the next 6 months.”
