Solskjaer refuses to rule out January departures
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refuses to rule out any further departures from the club in the January transfer window, following the departure of Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
Fosu-Mensah joined Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen this week, and the Norwegian says more departures from the club could be on the cards.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Solskjaer said: “You can’t really say no because, in football, things just crop up.
“There are opportunities that we can’t really say no to and, if it’s the best for the club and the player, then it’s something we’ll look at.
“At the moment I can’t update you on any of them, I don’t really know where any negotiations are [up to].”
Fosu-Mensah signed for Leverkusen for a fee believed to be in the region of £3m, after finding first-team opportunities difficult to come by at the club.

Solskjaer did wish the 23-year-old all the best for the future.
“We wish Tim all the best – six-and-a-half years I think he was here,” he said.
“He’s an exciting talent and he’s got the attributes, but he needs to play.
“When he gets regular game-time I think we’ll see him for Holland and we’ll see how good a player he is.”
Fosu-Mensah made 30 appearances during his time in Manchester, after graduating through the club’s youth academy. His final game came in the 3-2 defeat to RB Leipzig in the Champions League in early December.
Fringe players such as Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero and Jesse Lingard have all been linked with permanent moves away from Old Trafford in order to find playing time.
Both Rojo and Romero are free agents this summer, and can negotiate with other clubs at present. Lingard meanwhile has a contract with the club until June 2022 and will only be sold should a club meet United’s valuation of the player.
