Liverpool transfer target: Neuhaus wants league titles at next club
Liverpool and Bayern Munich transfer target Florian Neuhaus has suggested that his primary goal at a new club would be to win league titles.
The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder has been in superb form for the Foals this season, with six goals and six assists in all competitions.
As such the Bundesliga talent has attracted the interest of a number of Europe’s top clubs, with Liverpool and Bayern being heavily linked with a bid for the player at the end of the season.
And while Neuhaus has a contract with Gladbach that is set to run until 2024, the midfielder is already considering what he wants from his next club.
“I have big goals – and there was something missing,” the midfielder told German magazine Kicker. “A title. I want to win titles in my career, that’s what drives me. A year with a title win, that would really be a dream year.
“I have a contract until 2024 and still have very big goals this season. That’s what I’m concentrating on now.”
Whether Gladbach can match Neuhaus’ ambition for the remainder of the season or convince him to stay for another year or two to challenge for serious silverware remains to be seen.
However, the midfielder is well aware of how much he has developed at Gladbach and has no intentions of downplaying that – even if he admits his future at the club may now be in doubt.
“For me, it’s really not such a big issue now,” he says. “I play for Borussia, I have a contract, and we as a club are still pursuing very big goals this season.
“What will happen in the summer, I can’t say at the moment. I’m also quite relaxed about the future. Borussia is a club where I have been able to develop excellently and where I find everything. I know what I have in Borussia.”
