The contract clause that may scare Real Madrid, Man Utd and Spurs off Nagelsmann this summer
Julian Nagelsmann is one of the most wanted head coaches in world football at the moment, and like any good player, the manager will cost any club that tries to sign him a lot of money.
According to reports in England, the 33-year-old RB Leipzig head coach is top of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur’s shortlists if they decide to move on from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho respectively, this summer.
Similarly, Real Madrid are reportedly keeping tabs on the man they once asked to replace Zinedine Zidane and may turn to Nagelsmann once again if the French manager decides to move on for the second time at the end of the season.
However, it seems as though the head coach may already have his card marked and instead be making a shorter trip south to Munich for the next chapter in his career.

According to reports in Germany, Nagelsmann is the main contender to succeed Hansi Flick, if the Bayern Munich head coach decides to leave the club at the end of the season to take over the German national team.
However, despite some of Europe’s biggest clubs interested in hiring the young manager, one major obstacle remains in place that could scupper almost all of these pursuits
How much would Nagelsmann cost to sign?
While RB Leipzig are bankrolled by a multinational company, the club maintain a pragmatic approach to letting key players (and coaches) leave the Bundesliga side, as long as it’s for the right price.
We’ve seen this with Naby Keita moving to Liverpool, Timo Werner making the move to Chelsea and most recently, Dayot Upamecano agreeing to join Bayern for around €40 million. And now it seems as though Nagelsmann also has his price.
According to Sport1, Nagelsmann’s contract at RB Leipzig demands that if Bayern, Madrid or any of their competitors in England try to sign the coach this summer they’ll have to hand over between €15-20 million for his services.
Considering the amount of money each of these clubs will have to fork over just to sack their current head coaches, Nagelsmann’s fee may then prove too much for even the richest clubs in Europe. So it remains to be seen which clubs are willing to put their money where their mouth is.
