Bayern Munich head coach has revealed that he isn’t concerned about recent reports linking star striker Robert Lewandowski with a move to the Premier League.

Despite having a contract with the Bundesliga giants until 2023, reports in England have suggested that the Poland international is looking for a move this summer.

At first the player’s agent was reportedly offering Lewandowski’s services to Chelsea prior to their signing of Romelu Lukaku, before more recent reports this week suggested Manchester City and Manchester United could look to make a bid for the player before the window shuts.

However, when asked directly about the risk of Lewandowski forcing a move to England in the coming weeks, Nagelsmann was quick to downplay the reports and suggested that the striker was perfectly content in Munich.

"That doesn't bother me at all and it's part of the football business," said the coach in a press conference on Friday. "He is simply the most dangerous striker on the market, so it is quite normal.

"He's not a satellite who separates himself and hopes he can get away. He feels very, very comfortable.

“That's also shown by his performance against Dortmund, where he scored two goals and set up one.

“He was also very committed today in training. A player who feels good or wants to leave would definitely not do that.”

Could Bayern sell Lewandowski this summer?

While Bayern could certainly use the kind of money that has been discussed as Lewandowski’s asking price, it still seems entirely unlikely that the club would sanction a sale anytime soon.

The Bavarian giants rely on Lewandowski as their sole source of goals most weeks and while at 33 years of age he isn’t getting any younger, the Polish striker is still one of the very best in the world at what he does.

Crucially, Bayern would struggle to find a like-for-like replacement for the player at short notice or indeed at a lower price than they would get for Lewandowski.
