Barcelona offer player swap for Bayern star Lewandowski
There’s little doubt that Bayern Munich will face huge competition this summer in their bid to keep Robert Lewandowski at the club.
Over the course of the past 12 months the Poland international has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Manchester City, as well as a potential transfer to Real Madrid.
However it happens to be Barcelona that are serious about signing the striker this summer, as FootballTransfers revealed last month.
And according to a new report from Spain, the Catalan giants are getting creative in their efforts to entice Bayern into letting their star player leave in a few months time.
Barca offer Dest as part of Lewandowski bid
According to Spanish newspaper Sport, the Catalan giants are well aware of the fact that it would likely cost the best part of €65 million to entice Bayern into accepting a bid for Lewandowski.
The striker still has more than 12 months left on his contract and Bayern would be happy to keep him at the club for a further season, even if the striker intends on leaving when it comes to an end.
As such, Barca have come up with a plan to offer full-back Sergino Dest to the Bavarian giants as part of any deal, in a bid to offset the up-front cash needed to buy Lewandowski.
Although the USMNT player has struggled for game time at Camp Nou this season, he remains a transfer target for Bayern this season and would likely be a player that the Bundesliga side would be keen to add to their ranks next season.
However, as much as Bayern desperately need a right-back list Dest in their team, it seems unlikely that they would be willing to part ways with Lewandowski so easily and without the buying club paying full price for their prized striker.
