The Cameroon-born forward moved to Germany at the age of 10 and rose through the ranks at Dortmund, having joined from St. Pauli, and has a contract until the summer 2023.

Real Madrid have shown interest in the player, hoping to sign him for a €20 million fee should the player’s contract talks stall.

So who is Real Madrid’s potential future forward?

Born in Cameroon’s capital of Yaounde, Moukoko moved to Hamburg with his family and signed up to local club St. Pauli, having lived with his father at the time.

He showed his talents for their youth teams, scoring at free will for their under 13s team, and at the age of 14, he was signed up by Borussia Dortmund.

Moukoko scored an amazing 127 goals in 84 matches for the club’s under-17 and under-19 teams, which prompted Lucien Favre to promote the forward to Dortmund’s senior team in the 2020-21 season, making his debut at the age of 16 in November 2020.

The forward gained a big reputation, even getting a nod from Erling Haaland for his talent – the Norwegian said he’d never seen a youngster as good as Moukoko.

Moukoko is incredibly gifted, showing his quality in front of goal regularly and being able with both feet, as well as his head.

The big worry for Moukoko would be that he has suffered with a few injury problems with Dortmund, which has caused him to miss a few games over the course of this season and perhaps miss opportunities to show that he is Haaland’s long-term replacement.

Additionally, there has been plenty of hype around Moukoko and his talent for several years – he needs to remain vigilant and protected from the media in the coming years if he is to fulfill his potential.

The player, however, is keeping his dreams big: he’s always said he wants to perform on the biggest stages and win the Ballon d’Or, and if he carries on his record from his younger days, there is no doubt that he can achieve those goals in the coming years, especially if it’s at a club like Real Madrid.
