David de Gea has been linked with a sensational switch to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr, but there is competition for the former Manchester United man's signature.

As reported by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, De Gea "has two important bids from Saudi Arabia," and one of those is understood to be Al-Nassr, who signed United great Ronaldo on a free transfer last winter.

De Gea has been out of contract since July, with the United subsequently signing Andre Onana from Inter Milan for an initial €52.5 million to be his replacement.

He could be part of a Red Devils reunion at Al-Nassr, with Alex Telles having also since joined the club, but Bayern Munich have emerged as a potential next destination for the long-time Spain No.1, with Manuel Neuer suffering a setback on his return from a broken leg.

De Gea talks 'already underway'

"Bayern are still looking for a replacement for Manuel Neuer - and are focusing on the next big name," report Sport1. "The decision-makers in Munich are thinking about David de Gea, and talks are already underway with the 32-year-old."

Bayern are unlikely to be able to match the salary De Gea could command in the Saudi Pro League, but they give him the opportunity of continuing his career in Europe, and lifted the Champions League as recently as 2020.

Harry Kane recently joined the club from Tottenham Hotspur for €100m, increasing their chances of continental success in 2023/24.

Bayern will push hard for De Gea's signature. Neuer - who broke his leg in a skiing accident after Germany's early exit from the winter World Cup in Qatar - isn't expected back until late this year, while Yann Sommer has been sold, to replace Onana at Inter.

Kepa Arrizabalaga and Yassine Bounou had both been on their shortlist, the former has joined Real Madrid on loan from Chelsea while Sevilla want €20m for the latter - a figure out of Bayern's reach after the outlay on Kane.
