Harry Kane became one of the highest-paid players in Europe when he joined Bayern Munich this summer but the England captain has a ‘secret clause’ in his contract that could see him net a further windfall on top of his wages.

Kane has enjoyed a stunning start to life in Germany since his €95 million transfer, scoring 21 goals in just 16 appearances in all competitions as well as grabbing seven assists.

The 30-year-old is believed to have a salary of €24m a year at Bayern and Sport Bild claim that Kane could net another €250,000 if he achieves more than 40 ‘scorer points’ in a season.

Scorer points are believed to refer to goals and assists, meaning Kane’s current total of 28 would mean he needs just 13 more to take him past the 40 mark and collect his bonus.

The clause does not include games in the first or second rounds of the DFB-Pokal, however that will not concern Kane this season after Bayern’s embarrassing early exit to third-tier side Saarbrucken.

With Kane performing at a historic level for Bayern, the former Tottenham striker could feasibly secure his bonus in the upcoming seven games before the winter break next month if he continues his prolific output.

The staggering numbers behind Kane’s record-breaking season so far

Kane has already outperformed the likes of Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski during their early days in Germany, with his 17 Bundesliga goals in 11 games one more than the latter’s record.

With three league hat-tricks already this season, Kane is scoring every 57 minutes in the Bundesliga, more than any other player in 60 years including Haaland, Lewandowski and German legend Gerd Muller.

Kane’s 22 goal involvements in the league has helped Bayern score 42 times in their opening 11 games – another record high.

However, despite their flurry of goals, Bayern still sit two points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, with their rivals undefeated and winning ten of their opening 11 games so far.
