Bayern HIJACK Tottenham deal for €30m star
Tottenham Hotspur are at risk of missing out on top target Radu Dragusin following reports that Bayern Munich have lodged a €30 million proposal for the Genoa star.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are desperate for defensive reinforcements during the January transfer window amid an injury crisis that has forced the new boss to use Ben Davies and Emerson Royal at centre-back.
Eric Dier is seemingly on his way to Bayern too, meaning Tottenham have identified a centre-back as their primary need for the winter window.
Genoa man Dragusin has been pursued by Spurs for several weeks, with their interest in the Romanian first exclusively reported by FootballTransfers back in early December.
Everton’s Jarrad Brainthwaite is also admired by the Tottenham hierarchy, but the English defender is extremely unlikely to leave Goodison Park in January due to his huge price tag.
As a result, Tottenham have pressed ahead in their bid to sign Dragusin and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has repeatedly stated that Postecoglou’s side are determined to land the 21-year-old.
Furthermore, he recently posted on 7 January: “Understand Tottenham had new positive contacts with Genoa for Radu Dragusin deal! Deal advancing to final stages of the negotiations.
“Spurs hope to get the deal done next week as talks continue, it’s all on verbal proposals waiting for the final, official bid.”
However, Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb have now reported that Bayern have hijacked Spurs’ pursuit of Dragusin.
Bayern Munich to sign Tottenham target Radu Dragusin?
According to the report, Bayern have submitted a bid of €24m plus €6m in potential add-ons for the Romania international. TuttoMercatoWeb state that Thomas Tuchel’s side are now “very close” to reaching an agreement for Dragusin.
Atalanta have reportedly seen a bid of €18m plus €2m in add-ons rejected, while fellow Serie A clubs AC Milan and Napoli are also interested.
However, Dragusin was expected to join Tottenham given their vast interest in his services, but it appears as though Bayern may now be set to win the race for his signature despite the fact Dier is on the verge of joining too.
Dragusin has made 19 Serie A appearances for Genoa so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
