Romano announces TWO Man Utd bombs and confirms transfer rumour
Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest news on Manchester United’s summer transfer plans, revealing that the club are working hard to get the key groundwork done before entering into formal talks.
The Red Devils are set for a summer overhaul, yet this is not restricted to the field, with the backroom staff set to be changed significantly, too.
Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox of Newcastle and Southampton respectively are names being linked with the club, and Romano has detailed how these deals are progressing.
“Manchester United are going to push again to get a deal done with Newcastle in terms of compensation as soon as possible for Dan Ashworth,” he explained via his YouTube channel.
“He’s said yes to Manchester United and wants to work for them. From what I’m hearing, he believes it’s the perfect project. There are big ambitions for the future, so he wants to go there. But now it’s time to agree on compensation between Man Utd and Newcastle, but for sure, they will make one more big push next week.
“The links coming from The Athletic regarding Jason Wilcox are also true. He’s a candidate for the sporting director job. He would work next to and together with Ashworth.
“There are also other clubs looking at Wilcox and Southampton are looking to keep him at the club but Man Utd are on it.”
Mathys Tel to Man Utd: Romano reveals the truth
Romano also lifted the lid on the progress Man Utd are making with regards their summer transfer targets, including Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel.
“Every day we’re hearing names. But it’s very simple. Before Man Utd have a very clear structure to prepare for the summer transfer window, all the names you hear are probably only being scouted or considered, but nothing is concrete,” he said.
“These are players they are following, but before entering into concrete summer transfer talks, it’s early.
“Mathys Tel is one of the talents linked with Manchester United. At the moment, nothing is concrete in terms of talks or discussions or negotiations.”
