Barcelona are planning to offer Spain wonderkid Gavi a new contract in order to increase the €50 million release clause in his current deal.
The 17-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting young players after exploding onto the scene at the start of this season.

He has worked his way into Barcelona’s first team setup, making seven appearances in all competitions and starting three matches in La Liga.
Gavi also earned a sensational call-up to the Spain national team when Luis Enrique summoned him for the Nations League finals at the end of last month.
The teenager made his debut when he was chosen from the start in Spain’s 2-1 win over Italy in the Nations League semi-final at San Siro on Wednesday.
This made him the youngest Spain international in history at the age of 17 years and 62 days.
How much is Gavi’s minimum fee release clause?
However, there has been concern among some Barcelona fans that Gavi could be poached by big European clubs because he has a minimum fee release clause of just €50m.
Barca are working on a new deal, though, for Gavi.
“I wish we could have these concerns every day, as this would mean that the product we make at La Masia is of incalculable wealth,” Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste has told Mundo Deportivo.
“I was very happy for Gavi, he has an inappropriate maturity for his age, instead of 17 he seems to be 37.
"We are going to give him this security so that he sees that Barca has to be his home for many years.”
Barcelona are also understood to be discussing new contracts with fellow wonderkids Ansu Fati and Pedri.
Gavi was chosen to start once again on Sunday evening for the Nations League final between Spain and France at San Siro.
