Xavi has been in charge of Al Sadd since 2019, upon which he signed a two-year deal that was extended during the summer of 2021 when it was speculated that he was being lined up to take over from Koeman at Camp Nou.

The 41-year-old has overseen 89 matches at Al Sadd and posts an impressive 61 wins – a win percentage of 68.5%.

During the 2021/22 campaign, Xavi’s Al Sadd side are dominating the Qatar Stars League and have won all of their first seven fixtures in the competition, having won a domestic treble last term.

They have won all seven of their league fixtures to date and, most interestingly for Barcelona fans, they have been winning their matches in style. Al Sadd have scored 29 goals in the league already this season.

Indeed, exciting attacking football has been a feature of Xavi’s management, with his side averaging 2.75 goals per game over his 89 fixtures.

Despite these promising figures, a return to Barcelona for Xavi promises to be a far greater test.
