FIFA 22 wonderkids: The 30 best young defenders
FIFA 22 was released in October which means users have started to get to grips with the new edition of Ultimate Team and Career Mode.
Within Career Mode in FIFA, one of the best aspects of it is to identify and target young players who perhaps have a lower initial rating but who could potentially turn into superstars.
If these potential stars are developed correctly, a user can eventually have a dream team without having spent much money as younger players naturally don't cost as much as established stars.
In the defender position, here are 30 of the best wonderkids to sign in Career Mode.

If you are looking for a future centre-back superstar of the future, then look no further than Ajax wonderkid Jurrien Timber.
He starts off with a rating of 77, though this can develop into an overall rating of 87 which would make him one of the best defenders in the game in Career Mode.
Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig probably won't come cheap but his versatility is a benefit as he can play at right-back as well as centre-back.
Goncalo Inacio and Morato are two relatively unknown centre-back wonderkids from Sporting and Benfica respectively.
At right-back, the best option is Pedro Porro, who is on loan at Sporting CP from Manchester City.
Once that loan deal expires after the first season, he should be targeted.
At left-back, the best wonderkid out there is probably AZ Alkmaar's Owen Wijndal.
There are a number of players from the list who can be signed relatively cheaply.
Leonidas Stergiou won't cost too much from St Gallen and is a great option at centre-back, while Valentin Barco is with Boca and doesn't have a high price tag.
However, with an opening rating of just 67 he will need time to develop and hopefully reach his potential rating of 83 at left-back.
