The young German is earning quite the reputation for himself in Austria, having joined RB Salzburg in 2018 after previously been in the youth system at Bayern Munich.

Adeyemi's progress has meant that the club have not felt the impact of Patson Daka's departure as he has stepped up massively, especially in 2021/22.

So far this campaign he has scored a magnificent 15 goals in 23 starts in all competitions and is reportedly being looked at by some of Europe's elite sides.

These sides include the aforementioned Dortmund, as well as Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

According to a report from German outlet Sport1, Barca have already initiated contact with the player and his agent, but the salary offer comes below the alleged offer from Dortmund.

This comes from two Sport1 journalists, Patrick Berger and Oliver Muller, who revealed that they expect Adeyemi to sign for Dortmund.

What was said about Adeyemi?

"At BVB, Adeyemi should earn five million euros a year, which is a lot," says Berger on the Die Dortmund-Woche podcast.

"Not even Jude Bellingham got that at BVB at the beginning.

“Talks are being held with Barcelona, Leipzig and Paris. They sound out the market, what goes with the business. BVB, which absolutely wants Adeyemi and is ready to spend 30 million euros including bonuses, has to wait at the moment."

Muller believes the transfer will happen due to Dortmund's stellar reputation for giving young players a chance.

“The player himself and his environment should be aware of where there are the best development opportunities - and that should be BVB," he said.

"Young players get top-class stakes in Dortmund. The arguments speak for BVB. The Adeyemi side is still playing poker. But if I'm not mistaken, he will play in Dortmund next season."

Dortmund will more than likely be looking for a replacement for star striker Erling Haaland in the summer and Adeyemi has emerged as their number one target.

The club has become famed in recent years for developing young talent such as Haaland, Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Giovanni Reyna.
