Kylian Mbappe is likely to join Real Madrid in 2022 but that hasn’t stopped him from predicting a victory over them for PSG.

Mbappe was involved in the biggest transfer saga of the summer as he attempted to push through a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.

In the end the transfer didn’t go through but Mbappe is widely expected to still move to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season on a Bosman.

Mbappe’s contract at PSG expires in June and he has repeatedly rejected offers of an extension.

An interesting sub-plot to his likely move to Real Madrid is the fact that PSG will play his prospective employers in the Champions League in February.

Madrid drew PSG in the last-16 of Europe’s premier club competition in what is the tie of the round.

The Ligue 1 side will play the first leg in Paris before travelling to the Santiago Bernabeu for the second leg.

Despite all the talk about his future, Mbappe is only focused on PSG winning that tie and he has predicted a victory for the Parisians.

What did Mbappe say?

“The only thing I can see or predict for Real Madrid-PSG is Paris Saint-Germain to win,” Mbappe told Sky Sport.

“It’s going to be hard, a complicated game. But I want to win both the Champions League and World Cup in 2022.”

Mbappe signed for PSG from Monaco in a €180m deal in 2017, joining the same summer as Neymar, who transferred for a world record €222m.

He has won three Ligue 1 titles during his time at the club, as well as the World Cup and UEFA Nations League for the France national team.
