Kylian Mbappe has admitted that he was a little disappointed not being able to join Real Madrid this past summer but has hinted that he will finally do so next year.

Mbappe was involved in the biggest transfer saga of the summer as he attempted to push through a move to La Liga giants Madrid.

In the end the transfer didn’t go through but Mbappe is widely expected to still move to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season on a Bosman when his PSG contract runs out.

What did Mbappe say about Real Madrid?

"I am in a club that wants to win the Champions League. Plus I'm Parisian, I feel great and I've always said so, but I wanted to discover something else,” the attacker told Prime Video Sport France.

“It's not easy. Whatever happens, I'm going to play for a big club.

“People were asking me if I was disappointed. Yes, I was a bit at the beginning. When you want to leave…but it’s not like I was in the third division [at PSG].

What did Mbappe say about Messi and Neymar?

Mbappe also discussed PSG’s famed attacking trio consisting of Lionel Messi, Neymar and himself.

The trident has struggled to gel so far this season, with the Argentine and Brazilian in particular failing to fire.

Mbappe was asked whether he is the boss.

“It’s difficult,” he laughed.

“When you play with Neymar and Messi, it’s cheeky to call yourself the boss. Now, I’m in a good spell, the team is doing well. We really don’t care about who the boss is. The goal is to put all three of is in the right conditions because we’re game-changers. It’s better that way.

“We’re aware that we need to do more. When you have three players of that level, you can’t hide from it. We need to do the things that keep us together as a collective. We each have to do our bit.”

PSG drew 1-1 at Lens on Saturday but remain 11 points clear at the top of Ligue 1.
