One of the greatest games of Ronaldino’s career came during the 2005/06 season when the Brazilian scored a stunning double for Barca in a 3-0 win over Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

One of these goals saw Ronaldinho embark on a magnificent solo run in which he slalomed past Sergio Ramos before firing past Iker Casillas.

Upon leaving the field, Ronaldinho was even afforded a rare standing ovation by the Bernabeu crowd – an honour afforded to very few visiting players over the years.

And the now 41-year-old has mocked Sergio Ramos over the incident on social media, tweeting “Hey Sergio Ramos, remember this night?”, together with a picture of the two players.

This prompted an equally cheeky response from the Spaniard, who replied: “I do… but this one a few months later was way better.”

Ramos’ tweet included an image of Madrid celebrating winning the 2006/07 La Liga title, with eagle-eyed viewers pointing out that Ronaldinho’s image was mistakenly taken a season after the Clasico in question.

Ronaldinho and Sergio Ramos have been regularly poking fun at each other socially, with the pair having a mutual respect for one another.

Sergio Ramos leaves Real Madrid

Ramos himself is currently looking for a new club after ending his legendary 16-year association with Madrid earlier this week during a tearful farewell press conference.

The Spaniard's contract with the club officially ends at the end of June and he will not be penning a new deal.

Ramos and Real Madrid had been locked in negotiations for over a year about an extension, but both parties were unable to come to an understanding.

The player was eager to be granted a two-year deal to remain at Santiago Bernabeu but, due to his advancing years, he was only offered a one-year deal by the club.

Sergio Ramos is not playing at Euro 2020, having been left out of Spain’s squad due to fitness concerns.
