Florentino Pérez: “Cristiano Ronaldo is an idiot, a sick person. You think this guy is normal, but he’s not, otherwise, he wouldn't do all the things he does, like the last nonsense, that everyone saw him.” @elconfidencial #rmlive 🚨pic.twitter.com/CIqB0gsxst— Los Blancos Live (@LosBlancos_Live) July 14, 2021
On Wednesday, they released an audio in which Perez labels Ronaldo an “idiot” and a “sick person”.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is an idiot, a sick person. You think this guy is normal, but he’s not, otherwise, he wouldn't do all the things he does, like the last nonsense that everyone saw him do,” are Perez’s words on the audio.
The quotes are said to date from 2012, three years after Ronaldo had signed for the club from Manchester United.
Ronaldo has since moved on from Madrid, joining Juventus in 2018.
On Monday, Perez hit the headlines after an audio of him slamming Madrid legends Raul and Iker Casillas was leaked.
"Casillas is not a Real Madrid standard goalkeeper, what can I say? He's not and never has been,” Perez said in quotes from 2006.
"He has been a big failure of ours. The problem is people adore him, love him, talk to him, they defend him so much.
"He is one of the biggest frauds and the other is Raul, the two biggest Real Madrid frauds are first Raul and second Casillas."
How did Perez respond to leaked audios?
Perez issued a statement on Real Madrid’s official website on Tuesday in response to the leaked audios.
“They are single phrases of conversations taken from the broader context in which they occur,” the statement read.
“They reproduce them now, after so many years have passed since those conversations took place. I understand that it is due to my participation as one of the promoters of the Super League.”
“I have put the matter in the hands of my lawyers who are studying the possible actions to take.”
