January's Most Wanted: Arnaut Danjuma to Liverpool in January?
When it comes to the transfer window, no position is more crucial and valuable than that of the in-form striker.
Sure, goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders can all demand huge fees, but a player that is scoring goals for fun is really worth as much as his club are willing to ask for.
That certainly may be the case for Villarreal talisman Arnaut Danjuma, who joined the Spanish side in the summer and has set about taking La Liga by storm.
To date, Danjuma has bagged an impressive nine goals and three assists in 18 games for Unai Emery’s side and as a result a number of big clubs may be taking notice of his talents.
What is Arnaut Danjuma’s transfer status?
Due to the player’s stellar form in Spain since making the move to Bournemouth, it’s highly unlikely that Villarreal would want to sell Danjuma anytime soon.
However, according to the Athletic, the forward does have a release clause in his contract with the Spanish club that stands at €75 million.
When does Arnaut Danjuma’s contract expire?
Arnaut Danjuma’s contract at Villarreal is set to expire on June 30, 2026.
What clubs are interested in Arnaut Danjuma?
Danjuma has only been scoring goals for fun in a top-tier league for about six months now, so he doesn’t have the longest list of admirers just yet.
However, one club that have already been linked with the player for quite some time are Liverpool, who may be in need of another forward before too long.
The Anfield club still haven’t managed to tie Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah down to long-term deals and with both players now over 30, some long-term successors may be prioritised in the months ahead. And it seems as though Danjuma could be one potential replacement.
Could Arnaut Danjuma leave in January?
Considering the striker’s form for Villarreal this season, it seems highly unlikely that the club would be willing to let Danjuma leave.
Equally, it seems even more unlikely that Liverpool would be prepared to place a huge bid for the Dutch talent in the weeks ahead.
Could Arnaut Danjuma leave in the summer?
There is some chance that Liverpool would make an offer for Danjuma in the summer but that is still entirely dependent on what happens with Mane and Salah.
If either forward indicates that he has no intention of signing a new deal, the Anfield club may be forced to consider other options. Which would almost certainly mean a serious look at how feasible a bid for Danjuma would be.
How old is Arnaut Danjuma?
Arnaut Danjuma was born on January 31, 1997. Which means the player is 24 years of age.
