Barcelona's Camp Nou to be renamed for the first time in history
Barcelona's stadium will be renamed for the first time ever after the club agreed a partnership deal with music streaming service Spotify, with the deal beginning at the end of the current campaign.
The Camp Nou, which opened in September 1957 after three years of building, has kept its name for its entire history, but that will change when the deal begins.
Spotify will become the club's Main Partner, and the deal means the streaming company will be the main sponsor on the Barcelona men's and women's kits for the next four years, starting next season. The company will also be present on training tops.
The stadium will be renamed the Spotify Camp Nou from July, while reports reveal the deal is worth around €280 million (£235m), according to The Independent.
Barcelona's plans to redevelop the Camp Nou have been aided by this deal, with the initial development plans revealing costs could exceed €1.5 billion (£1.25bn), reports suggest.
