Gareth Bale’s contract with Real Madrid is set to run its course this summer, and he is likely to leave the Primera Division leaders after nine years at the club.

However, there is a belief he is about to extend his stay in Spain, with the Welshman and his family well-settled in the country.

It is believed that Bale is considering offers from other La Liga clubs, as he enjoys the lifestyle in Spain and is comfortable living there.

Could Bale stay in Spain?

Bale could sign for another Spanish club, as he looks to maintain his fitness ahead of a potential World Cup to play in the winter, should Wales qualify.

The Welshman is still only 32 and will have a few years left in him at the highest level for another club to make use of, and he could certainly play in Spain’s top flight.

Just a few weeks ago, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti said he wanted to give him a good farewell, however, that hasn’t panned out as planned as Bale has been jeered frequently by his own fans at the Santiago Bernabeu.

That prompted a defence from team-mate Casemiro, who said that booing Bale would be booing Real Madrid’s history, implying that the Welshman had played a crucial role for the club over the last few years.

Bale has been at Real Madrid since 2013 and was a crucial part of their Champions League wins in 2014 and 2018, scoring in both finals – including a brace in the latter against Liverpool.

Other than that, Bale has won two more Champions League honours, as well as two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three FIFA Club World Cups.

Overall, in 258 appearances for the club, he has scored 106 goals and could wrap up his time at Real Madrid by winning yet another La Liga title in May.
