Real Madrid have announced the transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco in a deal worth a massive €100 million in total.

From an unknown outside his native country in early 2020 to one of the hottest properties around, Tchouameni has enjoyed a rapid ascent to the top, and that only looks set to continue.

A standout during his days at Bordeaux, Tchouameni has burst onto the world scene at Monaco and follows in the footsteps of James Rodriguez in leaving the Principality for Los Blancos,

A midfielder with all the outstanding qualities needed to play in front of the Santiago Bernabeu crowd, Tchouameni is a world-beater in the making and is also ready to make an impact now.

With the profile of a destroying No.6 and the technical ability of a No.8, Tchouameni can play in a single pivot, a double pivot or as a number eight in equal measure and could easily replace Casemiro, Luka Modric or Toni Kroos on any given matchday. That is almost invaluable.

Links of a move away last summer bubbled away, with Chelsea heavily interested, but Tchouameni stayed put at Monaco and his rise to global exposure has been down to his stellar performances.

Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain joined Real Madrid in the race, but the player always had the Spanish giants at the top of his list of potential destinations.

Forget Mbappe, Tchouameni is the perfect signing

The blow of missing out on Kylian Mbappe will be eased by the addition of one of Europe's most talented players in a position of great need at Real Madrid.

Casemiro, Modric and Kroos may have formed the bedrock for five Champions League victories, but their powers are beginning to wane.

While Modric was his supreme best in the run to European glory that was capped off by victory over Liverpool, the Croatian is 36, and in a position that requires considerable fitness and exertion, he's approaching the age in which his fitness will begin to show.

Of course, he's still a vital piece of Europe's best team, but rotation will be key to managing his fitness and prolonging his stay at the top of the game.

As for Kroos, he's certainly beginning to feel the effects of a long career at the top. Once an immovable object in the starting XI, the German has found himself substituted earlier and earlier this season with Eduardo Camavinga's contributions off the bench a pivotal reason why Los Blancos reached the Champions League final.

With Kroos and Modric in need of rotation, who better than Tchouameni to fill that hole?

The former Bordeaux man will be able to provide genuine quality as soon as the season begins and instantly become a valuable asset within Carlo Ancelotti's squad.

Although his minutes will understandably drop from his time at Monaco, there's no reason to suggest why Tchouameni won't rack up over 40 appearances next season given their vast number of games and the element of rotation within their current midfield ranks.

Camavinga has slowly introduced himself into the Real Madrid side, but Tchouameni is a far more polished and experienced player than the former Rennes man when he arrived at Santiago Bernabeu a year ago. As a result, he's ready to contribute now.

But he will also provide Real Madrid with arguably the best young duo of midfielders in world football. Camavinga and Tchouameni have the potential to dictate the next decade in the position as their elders age out. The French pairing are ready to provide Real Madrid with the best midfield in Europe right now as well as the best midfield in a decade.

From a side prioritising Galactico signings to a club acting more shrewdly than most of Europe, Real Madrid have successfully future-proofed their attack with the additions of Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior, and Tchouameni is the final piece of the puzzle in midfield. Next up is the defence.
