Barcelona are now allowing weddings to be hosted at the Camp Nou in a bid to earn so more money and help their financial issues at a difficult time.

The club have been looking for ways to help their dire financial condition, having recorded over €1.1 billion in debt as a result of poor decisions and wasteful spending over the last few years.

They’ve looked for external sources of financing, and were close to agreeing a deal with CVC that would see them sell their media rights.

However, the club backed out of that deal, believing it would prove to be more detrimental in the long-run and have been looking for other firms instead.

Barcelona taking steps to reduce debt

It was reported by Bloomberg earlier in the week that they had a deal with the Bank of America for the same, in a partnership that would bring them €600 million.

In the meantime, they’ve been looking at other means, including renting out the famous Camp Nou for events such as weddings and even giving fans the chance to play on the pitch.

Prices for weddings and receptions range between €1,600 and €13,500, depending on the hall they want and the number of guests invited.

The halls can be rented out for up to six hours and assistance will be provided by the staff at the Camp Nou to help events run smoothly.

Additionally, fans can also rent out the pitch for a kick at the Camp Nou for a fee of €300 per player between 6 June and 11 June of this year.

Although these aren’t astronomical sums compared to their debt, it’s part of a process to help the club pay of their liabilities and ensure smooth running of the institution again.

Barcelona have ambitions for the summer transfer window following a positive end to the season with plans to complete the signings of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie.

Additionally, the club are also targeting Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Leeds United’s Raphinha as options to improve their attacking line.
