Barcelona manager Xavi demanded that 15 players be offloaded this summer in order to undergo a mass revolution of the first-team squad.

That is according to Sport, which reports that Xavi told club bosses at the end of last season he wanted a huge overhaul.

Xavi has already successfully offloaded seven of these unwanted players.

These are Adama Traore and Luuk de Jong, whose loan moves last season were not made permanent.

Dani Alves’ contract expired and Xavi requested that he was not given a new deal. Rey Manaj was sold to Watford for an undisclosed fee, while Ferran Jutgla was sold to Club Brugge for €5 million.

Clement Lenglet and Francisco Trincao were also sent out on loan to Tottenham and Sporting, respectively, with a view to these deals becoming permanent.

Finally, Philippe Coutinho (above) made his own loan to Aston Villa permanent for €20m.

Xavi is now pushing for seven more players to be offloaded.

These are backup goalkeeper Neto, injury-prone defender Samuel Umtiti and attackers Martin Braithwaite and Memphis Depay (below).

Xavi has also told academy players Oscar Mingueza and Riqui Puig that he is not part of his plans.

The last player that Xavi would like to sell is Frenkie de Jong, with Barcelona and Man Utd in negotiations over an €85m transfer. However, De Jong seems unwilling to make the move as it stands.

So far this summer, Barcelona have signed Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie on free transfers, youngster Pablo Torre from Racing Santander for €5m and their latest buy Raphinha from Leeds for €65m.

They also plan to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich and Jules Kounde from Sevilla, while Ousmane Dembele is set to sign a new contract after his previous deal expired at the end of last season.
