Barcelona prepare EXTRAORDINARY Cubarsi contract: Teen rewarded for shutting out Mbappe
Barcelona are working on a special contract for Pau Cubarsi after his incredible start to life in the first team, reports from Spain indicate.
The 17-year-old Cubarsi has recently burst onto the scene with the Catalan club. The impression he has made has been so strong that after just 15 first-team games, Barcelona are scrambling to reassess his deal.
But while the youngster has astounded critics due to the maturity and quality of his game at a young age, it also throws up a complicated problem that Barcelona need to solve.

Mundo Deportivo reports that the Camp Nou outfit are in talks over a new contract, with both having the intention of signing a new deal “soon”. This could even before the current campaign ends.
Little wonder the Blaugrana are working so hard to get a new contract over the line. Cubarsi has already proven himself against some of the biggest names in the game. He won man of the match as Barca beat Napoli in the Champions League and followed that up by helping to shut down Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe in the quarter-finals earlier this week.
Crucially, the current termination clause in his deal stands at just €10 million, which looks a bargain price.

Barca want to repeat Lamine Yamal trick with Cubarsi
Barcelona do face some complications over his status as a minor, but the Blaugrana have experience in negotiating these.
The formula that they put into place with Lamine Yamal is what Xavi’s side want to follow here.
What this means is that Cubarsi will sign a new contract imminently that simply serves to increase the release clause. This will prevent him being tempted away for €10m, which would be an absolute disaster for the Camp Nou side.

In January, when he celebrates his 18th birthday, he will then be able to sign on full senior terms. It will be a five-year deal with a release clause worth €1 billion installed in his contract.
Cubarsi’s entourage have a slightly different idea in mind, hence there are still some details to be ironed out, but it is stressed that it remains his idea to remain at Barcelona “for many more years”.
