Jude Bellingham has infuriated Liverpool fans with his latest Alexander-Arnold move.

On Wednesday, he was part of the Real Madrid side that lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the Champions League, with goals coming from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo.

Mohamed Salah missed a penalty during the contest but eyes were more on Kylian Mbappe, who also wasted his spot-kick but whose display in general was considered abysmal. Caoimhin Kelleher produced a fine save to deny the superstar, keeping his clean sheet.

Much has been made of Alexander-Arnold and his future at Anfield. His contract is up in June 2025 and there have been extensive reports suggesting that he will make the move to Real Madrid, to join up with his friend Bellingham.

The midfielder was close to joining Liverpool himself but ended up snubbing the Reds In favour of moving to the La Liga giants, with

€103 million going to Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023.

After the game at Anfield, Bellingham was seen, via TNT Sports, asking Ryan Gravenberch for Trent Alexander-Arnold's shirt. The Dutchman agreed, went into the Liverpool dressing room, and brought out Alexander-Arnold's jersey from the game.

Fans have taken issue with this as Alexander-Arnold didn't even play a single minute of the European contest, with some even calling Bellingham 'cringe'.

The defender picked up a hamstring injury during the Reds' win over Aston Villa before the international break. Youngster Conor Bradley was put in his place, and he put on a brilliant display.

What did Bellingham say?

In a post-match interview with TNT Sports, Bellingham said that Liverpool wanted it more. "They were more up for it than us to be honest.

"It's a bad result against the best-performing team in Europe. It's no disgrace to come here and lose but we are disappointed in the way how we performed.

"From the first minute, they took control of the game. We never really maximised the spells we had in possession. When we got the ball back we tried to force a counter-attack a few too many times.

"We turned it over so much that they managed to keep control. Defensively they kept us in a place where we couldn't really harm them as much."
