As revealed by The Transfers Podcast, the relationship between Vinicius and Real Madrid has not been as smooth as hoped of late. Negotiations over a new contract have been difficult and the club's management, including president Florentino Perez, are reportedly becoming impatient with the South American.

Although Vini Jr is one of Madrid’s absolute star figures, a deal worth €300m, which would shatter the world transfer record, would be hard for them to ignore.

Vini Jr sale to fuel new Galactico era

Real Madrid believe that with an injection of €300m to the club, a new generation of Galacticos could be attracted to the Bernabeu. Los Blancos are dreaming of names like Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

It remains to be seen whether Vini Jr is attracted to Saudi Arabia, but the big-spending clubs in the Gulf are ready to throw money at the Brazilian, who is set to be offered a contract equal to that of Madrid legend Ronaldo, who is currently at Al-Nassr.

It was reported in mid-March that Vinicius is starting to become difficult to work with at Real Madrid, in particular with regards to his work ethic.

"Vinicius Junior's lack of dedication and focus on what really matters, namely football, is starting to take its toll," this previous report claimed. "Real Madrid have therefore reached the point where it is willing to sell one of its biggest names next summer if it can secure the future of the Spanish giants."

The winger has scored 18 goals and provided 11 assists in 37 games this season. Vinicius' current contract, which Real Madrid have tried to extend several times, runs until the summer of 2027. The Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of the 39-time international is €122.4 million.
