Real Madrid have had a relatively quiet summer transfer window, despite starting early with the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni, which is still the most expensive deal of this year so far.

The Spanish and European champions have mostly been inactive, but are looking for a busy end, especially on the outgoings front as they wish to trim their squad ahead of deadline day.

Los Blancos’ biggest sale thus far has been that of Casemiro, who has gone to Manchester United, and the club saw no need to sign a replacement as they’ve already got enough in the squad.

However, there could be more on the way out of the Santiago Bernabeu, as Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t see any need for them in the squad and has done alright without them.

Three players could leave soon

The trio that could leave the club are Marco Asensio, Alvaro Odriozola and Mariano Diaz, all of whom have had a relatively small influence on the Real Madrid team over the years.

Asensio’s contract runs out at the end of the season and he’s been subject to plenty of transfer speculation in recent times, with the club open to letting him go.

A few Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal, as well as Serie A champions Milan have been interesting in him, but no concrete offer has been made for him.

Odriozola has also been subject to speculation, having spent the last season on loan at Fiorentina, and he’s been linked with a Serie A return, even on a temporary deal.

Additionally, free-spending Nottingham Forest and Steve Cooper have also been keeping tabs on his situation at Real Madrid, but haven’t yet made an official proposal to sign him from the Madrid club.

Finally, there’s Mariano Diaz, who has spent much of his time at Real Madrid on the bench and rarely contributing to the first team, and the club are finally looking to cut ties.

Finding a suitor for him may be difficult, though, as there has been little interest in the player due to the last few years of his career being inadequate, and he may be hard to move.

In all, Real Madrid are hoping to have a busy end to the window to make their squad smaller and look to the rest of the season with their primary options in the squad.
