Barcelona put €100m star up for sale
Ousmane Dembele has had a flying start to the season, with many believing he can return to his best form that he showed in his days at Borussia Dortmund, before signing for Barcelona.
Over the years, Dembele has struggled with injury issues and mismanagement that have often hampered his form, but he is now finding his rhythm under Xavi’s management.
His form in the second half of last season was great, and that prompted Barcelona and Xavi to hand him a new deal, which he accepted, and has shown his talents in this season so far.
However, it seems as though Barcelona are open to the option of selling him as early as the January transfer window, and will demand a high price.
Barcelona have a plan in case Dembele goes
The Frenchman agreed to a two-year extension on his contract over the summer, and has a €100 million release clause on him if any club wants to buy him out from the Blaugrana.
There’s a suggestion that should any club pay that clause, and Dembele pushes to move, he would pocket €50 million of the total payment as part of a clause in his contract.
According to ARA, Barcelona believe that selling Dembele would bring them a huge fee, and as his replacement, they will explore the possibility of bringing in Marco Asensio as his contract expires at Real Madrid.
If Barcelona sell Dembélé, they will sign Asensio for free. Barcelona would receive a huge fee for Ousmane, and at the same time they will sign his replacement for free.

It’s uncertain how eager Barcelona are to sell Dembele this year – Xavi was very keen on keeping him at the club and felt he was an important part of his project going forward.
Barcelona do already have plenty of options for their wings, with players such as Ferran Torres, Raphinha and Ansu Fati all there, and they will continue to be active in the future.
Last season, he registered 13 assists in La Liga, the most of any player, and he has continued that form this campaign, becoming an important part of the Barcelona first-team.
