Leverkusen have had a difficult start to this campaign after ending the last season positively, but there has been some hope in the form of Diaby, who continues to shine.

The winger has been the club’s standout performer thus far, despite Leverkusen seeing a just one victory all season in the Bundesliga.

It’s now reported that there were scouts in attendance to watch Diaby star in their Champions League success over Atletico Madrid that has put Leverkusen in a good position in their group.

Interest in Diaby high

The German side beat their Spanish counterparts 2-0, with Robert Andrich scoring early on and Diaby adding to it later in the game.

Chelsea were one of the clubs keeping an eye on the player in Germany, while also watching Callum Hudson-Odoi, who joined Bayer Leverkusen in a loan move over the summer transfer window.

They are looking to bolster their attack and see Diaby as a good option, with the player’s skill set and relative young age being of a suitable profile to their team.

Arsenal have also been looking to add a wide creative player to their team having targeted the likes of Mykhaylo Mudryk and Yeremy over the summer, and see Diaby as an option as well for their young side.

Other than that, the Premier League’s top sides such as Manchester City and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on the progress of the former Paris Saint-Germain winger, who has shone for Leverkusen in recent years.

Newcastle were eager to bring the player over the to the north of England in the summer but were unable to reach a deal in time – they continue to monitor Diaby’s performances over in Germany, with a view to a future move.
