Jorginho wants €13.6m-a-year at Chelsea as Barcelona remain interested
Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has been linked with several moves away from the club, with Barcelona being one of the top contenders for his signing.
Jorginho is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and negotiations over a new deal have stalled, but the Blues are still hoping to keep him at the club.
Barcelona see him as the ideal signing to pursue as they are looking for a successor to Sergio Busquets, with Jorginho fitting their plans quite well.

They may, however, face a stumbling block when it comes to his wage demands, which are quite high judging by what he wants for a Chelsea renewal.
Barcelona remain interested in Jorginho
According to Spanish outlet Sport, the 30-year-old midfielder has big demands and that is the reason he and Chelsea are quite distant when it comes to reaching an agreement.
It’s revealed that Jorginho wants around €13.6 million-per-season if he is to renew with Chelsea, which is double of what he is currently earning at the club - €6.4 million.

Chelsea are unwilling to pay that but are willing to give him a pay rise – going to about €7-8 million-per-season, but they are in a weaker negotiating position.
Firstly, they will have to lose him on a free and secondly, Jorginho is aware that there are suitors for his services and he can easily refuse such an offer from the Blues.
Barcelona are continuing to monitor the situation and they may have received a boost from the fact that he is ready to refuse interest from Italian champions, Milan.

There’s a belief that Barcelona will accelerate their negotiations during the World Cup break in the hope of wrapping up a deal for next season as quickly as possible.
Whether they meet Jorginho’s demands will be interesting to see given their poor financial condition and recent Champions League exit in the group stages.
