Ferran Torres’ tenure at Barcelona hasn’t gone quite as planned having signed for them in January of 2022 with the Spaniard often being linked with an exit.

Torres has struggled to hit the ground running and has been displaced in the first team by new arrivals like Raphinha and Robert

Lewandowski, while Ousmane Dembele’s improved form has kept him out.

As a result, Torres has been linked with an exit from Barcelona within a year of him joining and there could be plenty of clubs interested should the right opportunity arise.

The biggest link comes from Arsenal, who are looking too add a new forward to their ranks following the injury sustained by Gabriel Jesus.

Could Torres move to Arsenal

Arsenal are in the running for the Premier League title, hoping to win it for the first time and at the very least, return to the Champions League for the first time since 2017.

The Gunners sit top of the table, five points clear of reigning champions Manchester City and want to maintain their good form in the second half of the campaign.

However, Jesus’ injury while on World Cup duty with Brazil will keep him out for three months and Arsenal need replacements to make up for his absence in the meantime.

According to journalist Dean Jones, Torres probably won’t be able to leave Barcelona, but if he’s told he can leave then Arsenal would be a viable option.

“My personal feeling is that I can’t see him leaving Barcelona yet. It seems like people in Barcelona seem to think this, too,” Jones said.

“Is he really going to give up on a club like that so quickly? Probably not. But if he’s told he doesn’t fit in at all and he has to consider something else, then Arsenal’s a great backup plan right now.”
