Real Madrid line up SHOCK move for Edin Dzeko
Real Madrid are considering a shock move for Inter Milan veteran Edin Dzeko, according to Calciomercato.
Madrid are keen to sign a backup striker in January as they are heavily reliant on Karim Benzema, who turned 35 last month.
There are no other out and out number nines in Madrid’s squad who are up to the level required, with coach Carlo Ancelotti often using Rodrygo and Marco Asensio.

This had led Madrid to consider making a move for Dzeko.
Dzeko’s record
The Bosnian attacker has been one of the most consistent and underrated strikers in world football over the past 15 years.
He has scored nearly 400 goals for club and country, winning the Bundesliga for Wolfsburg and Premier League with Man City, among a host of club honours.
Dzeko has been a massive success in Italy since joining first Roma in 2015 and then Inter in 2020, scoring just shy of 150 goals in Italy.
He turns 37 in March but is still playing at a very high level, as he is Inter’s top scorer this season with 10 goals.
This included the winner on Wednesday against previously unbeaten Napoli at San Siro.
Dzeko’s contract expires at the end of the season and while a new one-year deal with Inter is possible, there is no guarantee.
This leaves a slight opening for Madrid to make a move, even if it is unlikely Inter would consider a sale in January.
The big reason for this has been Romelu Lukaku’s horrible form and fitness this campaign which has made Dzeko’s presence crucial.
