Campos comments delivers blow to Barcelona's Messi hopes
Paris Saint-Germain advisor Luis Campos has confirmed that his club are in talks with Lionel Messi over a contract extension to keep him in the French capital.
Messi is in the final months of his contract at PSG and can leave the club for free in the summer, but has been in talks with the French champions over a new deal.
The Argentine has been linked with a host of moves in the past, with the likes of Barcelona and Major League Soccer side Inter Miami tracking his contract talks, but it looks like PSG are set to win the race.

Over the last week, rumours have intensified over the World Cup winner’s future and it’s become more concrete that he will remain at PSG.

At the moment, he is only in talks with PSG and no other club, according to Fabrizio Romano, and that has been a source of encouragement for the French champions.

It was also said that Messi’s representatives will be in Paris to have meetings with the club and discuss final details of the contract, with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner himself very keen to extend his deal.
There is little hope of a Barcelona return and with Campos’ latest comments, the Blaugrana’s chances are all but dashed, with that chapter of Messi’s career seemingly over now as he continues in Paris.
