Barcelona are looking to remove Ousmane Dembele’s release clause as speculation surrounds the player’s future - with Paris Saint-Germain said to be keen.

The Catalans have a deal in place with Dembele that sees him at the Nou Camp until 2024.

It means that he will be available as a free agent from next year. The Blaugrana want to seal the extension of Sergio Busquets first before moving on Dembele’s contract.

The Frenchman has come into his own under Xavi, with the winger now playing regularly.

Dembele also enjoys a healthy relationship with the coach and consequently Barcelona are looking to ensure he remains with the club for the foreseeable.

At the moment, he has a release clause of €50 million and this has piqued the interest of PSG, who have him on their list of targets.

It is hoped a renewal will see this clause raised to fend off interested clubs in obtaining the attacker, reports Spanish outlet Sport.

Dembele hopes that things can be finalised with a financial proposal that’s reasonable for him, having already accepted a frozen renewal contract last summer.

There is not much room for Dembele to increase his wage this time as a base rate, but there could be added incentives.

PSG are in talks with Lionel Messi over a new deal, while reports have suggested that Neymar is hoping to see out his time at the Parc des Princes.

But there have been suggestions of an overhaul at the club and those two superstars being moved out to make way for fresh blood.

PSG- a thorn in Barca's side

PSG are also reportedly eyeing up a move for Manchester City star Bernardo Silva, amid interest from Barcelona too.

The Ligue 1 champions remain convinced that they can lure Silva away from the Etihad - despite the Portgual international being linked with a move to Barcelona.

The La Liga side have issues around their financials and Man City’s asking price of €65m could prove to be a sticking point.
