'No doubts' Barcelona star signs contract, says Fabrizio Romano
Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal is set to sign a new contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The precocious attacker made his senior debut for the Blaugrana in their 4-0 victory over Real Betis, becoming the club's youngest-ever player in the process at just 15 years, nine months and 16 days old.
The La Masia product is set for a big future and he has already impressed for Barcelona's U19s in the UEFA Youth League, featuring against players four years his senior.
Indeed, such is his talent that the youngster has earned himself comparisons to Andres Iniesta, Rivaldo and, of course, the main man himself Lionel Messi given that Yamal is also a left-footed winger.

The 15-year-old's youth contract with Barcelona's U19s expires in 2024 and with the club keen to avoid another Ilias Akhomach situation where they lose a talented teenager for nothing, they are desperate to tie Yamal down to a new long-term deal - and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given Barcelona fans some reassuring news.

What did Romano say?
The Italian transfer guru announced to his 14.5 million Twitter followers that Barcelona are confident of a swift contract extension. "Lamine Yamal," he wrote, "will sign [a] new contract at Barcelona in the summer, no doubts — the agreement is imminent. New deal will be valid until June 2026."
Head coach Xavi has also weighed in: "He [Yamal] is a calm person, who keeps his feet on the ground, he is intelligent, he hardly loses the ball, he is happy and positive. The idea is that he ought to be in our first-team dynamic and can participate because I see opportunities for him to play in the first team."

"We hope [he will renew]," the 43-year-old continued, "everything is going well, the situation is quite under control. Especially when you talk to him, his mind is set on Barca, he wants to succeed here and he doesn’t think about anything else, that’s why I’m calm because he wants to be here."
