Carlo Ancelotti to LEAVE Real Madrid
Reports in Brazil claim that Carlo Ancelotti will become the next Selecao head coach in 2024.
The Real Madrid boss had been linked with the Brazil job all year, with the federation very keen on bringing this decorated coach across the pond, and now a deal is all but official, according to O Globo.
Initial reports had claimed that the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) was trying to engineer a deal for this summer, but with him staying at Real Madrid, the national team will require an interim boss until the Italian's contract expires in 2024.
A deal for this summer could have been possible had Ancelotti been sacked by Los Blancos, and he was indeed under intense scrutiny at one point, having overseen an underwhelming season by Real's lofty standards that ended without a LaLiga or Champions League title.

Nevertheless, Florentino Perez has kept faith in the 64-year-old and he will now be tasked with laying the groundwork for ensuring a smooth transition to his successor. Next summer could be a huge one indeed for Madrid: ageing stalwarts like Luka Modric and Toni Kroos will likely leave, while Kylian Mbappe could join.
Brazil have their man
As for Brazil, this is a massive reward for months of hard work. Though tactically, Ancelotti's approach to management may be dated, his ability to get the best out of star names is unrivalled and could be just what Brazil needs off the back of a disappointing World Cup.
While Ancelotti will have to ensure a smooth transition at Real, he will have to do the same for the national team. Since he can only officially sign a contract in January, he will require a confidant to take charge of the side and prepare it for what is to come in the meantime.

Initially, this person was rumoured to be his son, "but [this idea] was discarded because it would send the message that the experienced coach will not be with his mind at Real Madrid this season," according to O Globo.
The report goes on to say that Madrid and Brazil are not expected to make any formal statements until everything is officially signed - as per FIFA regulations - in January.
